Hi guys! Today we’re taking a look at different kind of sleeping masks, that I tried over the last weeks. They’re from the brands Laneige, Glowrecipe and Klair’s. I heard a lot of good things about them from other skincare enthusiasts, so I was pretty hyped to test them!
Sleeping Masks are meant to be put on as last step of your evening skincare routine before going to bed. You leave them on all night – there are kinds of masks that soak in or that you have to wash off the next day in the morning. They’re supposed to be used a few times a week and not every day in the most case.
Info beforehand: I have a dry skin type!
#1 Glowrecipe – Watermelon Glow Sleeping Mask
Not going to lie – the Watermelon Glow Sleeping Mask by Glowrecipe had my interest for a long time. I’ve heard a lot of beauty addicts tell good things about it, so I was very keen to test it as well!
The product comes in a glass bottle, which I really like! On the downside, it could get harder to travel with it. The masks itself has a light pinkish color and smells like watermelon! The texture is quite runny, but remember to mix it before using. Otherwise the oils in it separate from the remaining ingredients.
I would describe the mask as very hydrating! Most of it soaks in overnight – sometimes it leaves some remains on the skin, that you can wash off the next day. The texture is quite watery, so if you tend to have dry skin, the product will soak in even better. The next day you will wake up with a plump and glowy skin!
If you don’t like fragrances that much, I have to warn you – the melon scent is kind of present! Once you put it on your face, you won’t notice it that much though. I recommend using it 2-3 times a week, but you could also use it as a night moisturizer every day instead!
My summary: I would recommend the Watermelon Glow Sleeping Mask for dry/normal skin types! You could use it multiple times a week or even as a night moisturizer. If you enjoy a nice watermelon scent, this mask is great for you!
#2 Laneige – Water Sleeping Mask
Once again – I’ve heard so much about the Water Sleeping Mask by Laneige! Since I’m a huge fan of their Lip Sleeping Mask already, I couldn’t wait to give the face mask a try as well.
The product looks tiny, but that’s because I got the travel size / try size! It contains 15ml, which is perfect for testing!
The texture is very light and water based – yet a bit thicker than the Melon Sleeping Mask by Glowrecipe. It has got a light blue color and doesn’t have a noticeable scent!
The product soaks in completely overnight, so you don’t necessarily need to wash it off the next day! It’s very hydrating and your skin feels plump and firm in the morning. I think even sensitive skin types could use it without problems. It’s a great moisturizer but all in all I think it won’t plump wrinkles or fine lines in the longterm.
My summary: I would recommend the Laneige Water Sleeping Mask to dry/sensitive and normal skin types! If you want a great moisturizer and don’t necessarily need an anti aging effect, this one’s for you! You could use it every night without any problems in my opinion.
#3 Klair’s – Freshly Juiced Vitamin E Mask
Last but not least – the Freshly Juiced Vitamin E Mask by Klair’s! I’ve put my eyes on it for a while as well, so I was excited to try it!
This Sleeping Mask is enriched with Vitamin E, Niacinamide and Adenosine, which is supposed to give your skin a radiance and nice glow! It’ also supposed to brighten your skin and reduce redness.
The texture is very thick and kind of squishy – once you put it on your face it will melt though! The scent of the mask reminds me of citrus fruits. Your skin feels a bit sticky, but that’s not bothering me personally. Also you can feel, when the mask is starting to work – your skin can tingle a light bit in the beginning.
You’ll wake up the next morning with a nice glow indeed! Also I had the impression that red spots and blemishes are reduced. Because of the stickiness I recommend to wash it off the next day though!
My summary: I would recommend the Freshly Juiced Vitamin E Mask to normal skin types, that tend to have some blemished skin or redness! I wouldn’t use it as a daily moisturizer – more as an optional mask once a week if you’re feeling that your skin needs it!
