My Winter Skincare Routine 2019

Hi guys! Some of you asked for it – so here it is: my current skincare routine for the winter time in 2019!

As you may know, I constantly switch up products regarding the season. Just as the season changes, also the needs of my skin do.

For your information: I have a dry skin type, which sometimes has break outs here and there but nothing too dramatic.

#1 Double Cleansing

As the first step in my current routine I double cleanse. What does that exactly mean?

First I use an oil cleanser – I put the product on to my face and gently rub it into my skin and also on my eyes. At the moment I use the Klairs Gentle Black Deep Cleaning Oil* – it melts down your makeup immediately! Then you wash it off with warm water. I can definitely recommend this cleanser – it’s very gentle and doesn’t have a heavy fragrance.

After that, I either use the Innisfree Volcanic Pore Cleansing Foam or the Jowae Soothing Cleansing Milk. Then I scan the needs of my skin. If I have some breakouts or larger pores, I use the Innisfree product. If my skin is almost clear and needs extra moisture, I use the Cleansing Milk.

#2 Facial Toner

The next step is using a facial toner. At the moment the Klairs Supple Preparation Unscented Toner has this part in my routine.

Its consistency is slightly more thick than I’m used to for a facial toner, but nothing that would bother me. The product has a clear color and no fragrance. It doesn’t irritate your skin and supplies it with a lot of moisture – which is needed during the colder season especially with the dry air from the heaters everywhere.

#3 Face Serum

As the third step in my routine, it’s time for my serum! Nothing has changed – it’s still my favorite F06 Cell Active Face Serum by Oliveda.

Oliveda is a german natural cosmetic brand, which replaced the 70% of water in their products with the cell elixir of olive tree leaves. It’s enriched with Hydroxytyrosol – that is the ultimate anti-aging ingredient!

The Serum has a quite thick consistency and a slight fragrance of rose and honey. It soaks in immediately, plumps up your skin and gives you a nice glow from within.

#4 Eye Cream

My current eye cream is the F09 Anti Wrinkle Eye Cream by Oliveda.

It has a nice, thick texture and plumps up fine lines and wrinkles around your eyes. You can also put on a heavier amount for example as a mask overnight. Just gently pad it on your under-eye area with your ringfinger and let it soak in.

#5 Face Cream

My current face cream is also by Oliveda – the F07 Anti Aging Face Cream.

I mentioned this product before in other blog posts and it’s still one of my holy grails! Although it’s a little bit too heavy during the summer time (then I use it as a night cream), it’s perfect for the winter season – also because my skin needs that extra moisture. The cream balances out redness and gives your skin a nice glow as well.

#6 Lip Mask

One of my favorite steps during my evening routine is putting on a lip mask. And believe me, it works!

I’m still using the Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask – I use this products for years now and I can’t imagine a routine without it! Just put on a nice amount on your lips and let it soak in overnight – you’ll wake up with plump and moisturized lips. It comes in different flavors. Currently I’m using the Mint-Choco one, but I prefer Vanilla or Berry to be honest.

#7 Spot Treatment

Last but not least, here’s a little hack if you have trouble spots or need to get rid of a pimple in a short time.

Here is where the Drying Lotion by Mario Badescu comes in handy. Put on an amount of product (the “pink sand”) on a cotton swab and then onto your troubled areas. Leave it on overnight and your pimples will dry out. I always use this when I see a pimple appear! I also tried the AC Clean Up Pink Powder Spot Treatment by Etude House as well, but it didn’t work as good for me as the one from Mario Badescu.
